The marble is used since ancient times to represent luxury places. Nevertheless today it is possible to find the right material of marble for every need. Today it is used for coating, floors, tables, sculptures, and much more. One of the best known is Carrara Marble. The history of the marble as building materials dates 2'500 years back in time. There are several varieties of marble and now we are going to explain you something about it. In nature we can find some marble typologies. To simplify:

Serpentine Marbles:

It takes its name by the green siliceous rock. At times the shades of color are different, sometimes yellow or blue because is mixed with the limestone.
One of the serpentine marble is Serpentino di Prato.

Clastic Marbles:

Clastic rocks are defined as being composed of consolidated sediments formed by the accumulation of fragments derived from preexisting rocks and transported as separate particles to their places of deposition by purely mechanical agents.

They are formed by erosion, reworking, and transportation of rock components. Also by deposition and sedimentation of the material, and compaction and diagenetic processes.

Crystalline Marble:
These marbles are defined “pure”. Pure because It is composed primarily of the mineral calcite (CaCO3) and usually contains other minerals, such as clay minerals, micas, quartz, pyrite, iron oxides, and graphite.
They could be white, like Carrara White Marble, but also colorful.

Cryptocrystalline Marble:
They have a rock texture less crystalline than the previous, because are contaminated by old fossils. An example is Rosso Verona, Brescia Botticino, Trentino marble and Alabastro.

As you could see there are different typology of marble depending by their composition. For us give to the customer some information about the marble is essential to let him know how special and interesting the world of marble is.
